VICENZA and PADUA, Italy - Water levels in the Retrone and Bacchiglione rivers have risen significantly in the past few hours, prompting authorities to issue a flash flood warning for the cities of Vicenza and Padua.

The Bacchiglione River, which flows through both Vicenza and Padua, has reached a level of 6.5 meters at the Ponte degli Angeli measuring station. The Retrone River has reached a level of 4.2 meters at the Ponte degli Angeli measuring station.

Authorities are urging residents in low-lying areas to evacuate their homes and move to higher ground. Emergency services are on standby and are prepared to respond to any flooding that may occur.

The heavy rainfall is expected to continue for the next several hours, and water levels are expected to continue to rise. Residents are advised to stay informed about the latest weather conditions and to follow the instructions of local authorities.
